Terms of Service

Effective October 30, 2026

These Terms apply to everyone who uses thehousebuddy.com or asks House Buddy LLC ("House Buddy," "we," "us") for help finding a home service provider, and to every business that receives leads from us ("Partner"). By using the site, submitting a request, or accepting a lead, you agree to these Terms.

1. What House Buddy is

House Buddy is a referral desk in Broward County, Florida. Homeowners tell us what they need. We introduce them to independent local businesses.

We do not perform home services. We are not a contractor, pool company, cleaner, installer, or car detailer. We do not supervise, direct, or control any Partner's work.

2. Partners are independent

Every Partner is an independent business. Partners are not our employees, agents, or representatives. Each Partner sets its own prices, schedule, methods, and quality of work, and is responsible for its own licenses, insurance, taxes, and workers.

3. Payment for the work

The homeowner and the Partner deal with each other directly. The Partner gives the quote, does the work, and bills the homeowner. House Buddy does not collect, hold, or process payment for the job. Do not send us money for work. Any dispute about price, scope, or payment is between the homeowner and the Partner.

4. No insurance, warranty, or guarantee from us

House Buddy does not provide insurance, bonding, or a warranty for any Partner's work. We ask Partners for proof of insurance before they receive leads, but we do not verify or guarantee it, and we do not guarantee any Partner's licensing, skill, availability, pricing, or results. Homeowners should ask to see a Partner's license (where one is required) and insurance, get a written quote, and decide for themselves.

5. For homeowners

  • You may submit a request only for your own home or a home you are authorized to arrange service for. Give accurate information.
  • Contact and consent. By submitting a request you agree that House Buddy and the Partner we match you with may contact you by phone, text, and email about your request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end texts. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
  • Your information. We collect what you give us (name, phone, email, address, request details). We share it with the Partner matched to your request so they can contact you. We do not sell your information. We may keep records of requests to run and improve the service. See our Privacy page.
  • We may not be able to match every request.

6. For Partners

  • Lead fees. Partners pay a flat fee for each lead they accept, before we release the customer's contact details. The fee is owed whether or not the Partner wins the job. The current fee for each trade is in the Partner agreement or shared with you in writing.
  • Exclusive leads. We send each lead to one Partner.
  • Contact quickly. Partners agree to contact the customer within 24 hours of receiving a lead.
  • Replacement credit. If a lead is invalid (the person says they never made the request, the information is clearly fake, it is a duplicate, or the address is outside our service area), tell us within 3 days of release. We will give you a credit toward a future lead. Credits are not cash refunds. There is no credit if a customer declines, chooses someone else, or does not respond after you have tried to reach them.
  • Lead details are for you only. Use customer information only to quote and serve that job. Do not sell, share, or reuse it for other purposes.
  • No volume promise. We do not promise any number of leads or jobs.
  • Scope. Partners only perform work they are licensed and insured to do. Christmas light installs are plug-in only. No electrical work beyond the Partner's license.
  • The signed Partner agreement covers fees, credits, and non-solicit terms. If it conflicts with these Terms on those points, the Partner agreement controls.

7. Acceptable use

Do not submit false requests, spam, scrape the site, interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may refuse service or end a Partner's access at any time.

8. Disclaimers

The site and service are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no promises about the quality, safety, timing, or outcome of any work, or that the site will always be available or error free. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

9. Limitation of liability

House Buddy is not responsible for the acts, omissions, work, or products of any Partner, or for any damage, injury, loss, or dispute arising from work a Partner performs. To the fullest extent allowed by Florida law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or lost profits.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid House Buddy in the 12 months before the claim.

Some laws do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnity (Partners)

Partners agree to defend and reimburse House Buddy for claims, losses, and costs arising from the Partner's work, its employees or subcontractors, or its breach of these Terms or the Partner agreement.

11. Governing law and disputes

Florida law governs these Terms. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you consent to those courts. Before filing anything, please contact us and give us 30 days to work it out.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. The version posted on the site applies. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
